TikTok has officially taken over our lives! From University Life, Student Meals, Study Hacks, Hall Tours, Student ‘Come Dine With Me’ and so on…there’s no doubt that the endless scrolling on this social platform has really gotten us through the boredom of the last year.
But just how important is this ‘behind closed doors’ view on university life? Has it become popular because of the nitty gritty realities of University life which are now being shown uncensored?
In this blog post we’re highlighting some of our favourite TikTok accounts which we think every student needs in their life, for many different reasons!
1) Student meal check
Be honest – we’re all partial to a pack of Super Noodles! But sometimes we like to step up our Uni-Chef game. Accounts like @theunichef have made it SO easy for us all to follow quick, simple and (most importantly) CHEAP student recipes. From Tiktok famous ‘Feta Pasta’ to ‘Roast Dinners for One’, these accounts have got you covered.

2) REAL Student Halls
We’re sorry to say it, but unless you’re really fortunate, University halls are no 5* Hilton hotel.
Tiktok’s student content is so popular because of its authenticity, thriving off the humour which comes hand in hand with having a realistic university accommodation which any student can relate to.

3) Keep it clean!
Chances are, your University hall is going to have endless carpet stains, overflowing bin bags and a pile up of dirty dishes taller than your books to study. Unless you’ve been blessed with a cleaning-mad housemate, you’re going to have to deal with this mess yourself!
Accounts like @cleanwithsash have given students a helpful insight into just how easy and therapeutic cleaning and organising can be and how essential an organised space is for your studying and mental well-being.
4) Study-tok
And so the motto “Work smarter, not harder!” continues! Long gone are the days of endlessly flipping through text books, TikTok has given student’s a platform to share their top secret study hacks for the rest of us to benefit from! Let’s hope the university tutors don’t find out about this…

Students have turned to Tiktok as a way of documenting some of the hilarious (and pretty messy) situations they face in their weekly university life, and we can’t stop watching!
Sometimes it can be extremely difficult when all you see online of University experience is through rose-tinted glasses, which is why TikTok’s authentic and relatable content is extremely important to see, especially for University Students.
